• Persons in receipt of benefits or a low income are entitled to 25% discount on basic essentials only… i.e.
  • A bed
  • Wardrobe
  • Chest of drawers
  • Sofa
  • Dining table & chairs
  • Pots/pans/cutlery etc.
  • Bedding/curtains

• A referral form must be completed by the client or the agency making the referral. The client will then be issued with a discount card. Please see our discount card policy below.

• Proof of benefits will need to be shown to staff member prior to purchase to qualify for any discounts.

• Items can only be held for a maximum of 2 weeks with a 10% paid deposit… the deposit will be refunded if the items held are not purchased within this period.

• Deliveries are charged at £6.00 for Bridgnorth, £10.00 for surrounding area… this charge does not qualify for 25% discount.

• All of our items comply with the ‘Sale of Second-hand Goods Act 1979’

• All electrical items are checked and PAT tested for safety; this does not guarantee working order or safety after this date. It is in your own interest to seek the advice of someone qualified about connection and operation.

• BDFS C.I.C does NOT accept responsibility for any damage done in anyway whilst delivering items to your home

Discount Card Policy

BDFS issues discount cards on request to people on benefits and low income. The purpose of the discount is to keep prices of basic household items particularly low for people in need. It entitles holders to 25% off the cost of eligible items.

If you think you may qualify please ask at the till point prior to your purchase where staff will be pleased to help.
 

The discount is entirely self-funded by BDFS, so an item priced at £20 will sell for £15 to the holder of a discount card and the £5 difference will not be covered by any other source.

Eligible items include:

• Basic furniture and household items

Ineligible items include:

• Antiques and collectables
• Premium furniture (i.e. Luxury items.)

Points to note

The discount is based on the original marked price. It cannot be used in addition to any special offer prices, including markdowns.

The card can only be used for items for the personal use of the cardholder, partner or dependant relatives.
